PRIVACY POLICY Last updated: September 1, 2026 1. INTRODUCTION This Privacy Policy explains how igGameCenter ("igGC") collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you use igGC. It should be read together with the separate Terms of Service. igGC is a website for playing board games online with other players. It also provides game records, ratings and rankings, chat, collaboratively edited information pages, game-design and testing tools, and an official API. 2. WHO OPERATES IGGAMECENTER igGameCenter is operated by Arty Sandler in Ontario, Canada. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to info@iggamecenter.com. 3. INFORMATION IGGC COLLECTS Registration requires only a nickname and password. An email address is optional during registration but is required for certain functions, including password recovery, participation in lobby chat, and editing information pages. Account and profile information may also include optional details such as a real name, gender, birth date, country, location, about-you text, avatar image, and profile-display preferences. igGC also stores information generated through use of the Service, including login and session information, account-security events, game participation, ratings, rankings, game records, chat messages while they are retained, information-page edits, and official API activity. Server and application logs may include timestamps, event types, user IDs, account or security status, country inferred from an IP address, IP address information including proxy-forwarded or client IP values when present, browser or client fields submitted by the browser, HTTP user-agent, requested pages or API actions, and other technical information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and protect the Service. 4. PUBLIC INFORMATION Some information on igGC is public or visible to other users. This includes nicknames, avatars, profile badges, registration dates, visible profile details, ratings, rankings, game history, archived games, information-page edit history, and lobby chat. A real name, gender, country or flag, location, and about-you text are visible on a profile when provided. The day and month of birth are visible only if provided and the user whose profile is being viewed enables the show-birthday setting. The birth year is included only if provided. An email address is visible on a profile only to logged-in certified users and only if the user whose profile is being viewed enables the show-email setting. Accounts used in under-13 programs are subject to the same public-visibility rules as other accounts. 5. HOW IGGC USES INFORMATION igGC uses information to operate accounts, login and session features, password recovery, email certification, gameplay, ratings and rankings, the game archive, public profiles, chat, information pages, moderation and enforcement, security and abuse prevention, troubleshooting, support, website announcements, school or competition administration, and official API access. Where a legal basis is required, igGC relies on the basis applicable to the particular use. Depending on the use, this may include providing the account and game service; user consent or choices regarding optional email, newsletters, and profile visibility; legitimate interests in moderation, abuse prevention, security, troubleshooting, and protecting the Service; required authorization for a child's participation in a school or competition program; and compliance with legal obligations. 6. EMAIL AND NEWSLETTER igGC currently sends emails for registration, registration confirmation, email certification, and password recovery. igGC has not used email for any other purpose in over 15 years. A newsletter preference exists, but newsletter emails are not currently sent. If newsletter emails are used, users may unsubscribe by turning off the newsletter-subscription flag in their profile. 7. COOKIES, SESSIONS, AND ANALYTICS igGC uses cookies or similar browser storage for login, sessions, and site preferences. Logging out removes the user's session from the database. Users are marked as offline after 1 hour of inactivity. User session records are deleted after 180 days of inactivity. Google Analytics may be present on the site and may process analytics information. 8. GAME RECORDS, CHAT, AND INFORMATION PAGES Finished game sessions, including their in-game chat, are retained for no more than one week and are then permanently deleted. Abandoned sessions are removed within a few minutes once no joined members remain. Lobby chat retains only the 500 most recent messages. igGC does not provide private messages or forum posts. Completed games are preserved in the permanent game archive. The archive stores only the game, its options, the players' user IDs, each player's rating before and after the game, and the list of moves. It does not store in-game chat. Information pages, including their text and images, are collaboratively edited. Dated revisions are preserved in the regular information-page edit history. 9. CHILDREN, SCHOOLS, AND COMPETITIONS For a child's participation in a school, club, federation, or competition program, igGC does not require additional registration information, such as the child's legal name or email address. Any parental, guardian, institutional, or legal authorization required for an under-13 program is handled by the organizer outside the normal igGC account-registration fields. A parent, guardian, or authorized program organizer may manage an under-13 participant's account. Under-13 participants must not be subscribed to newsletters. The same retention rules continue to apply after a child program ends. 10. SHARING AND SERVICE PROVIDERS IONOS provides hosting and email services for igGC. Google Analytics may process analytics information if it is present on the site. Approved school, club, federation, or competition organizers may receive or provide information needed to administer approved child or organized programs. igGC may disclose personal information to legal authorities where required by law. igGC does not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising. 11. INTERNATIONAL PROCESSING The live server is hosted in the United States, and the operator is located in Ontario, Canada. If you use igGC from outside Canada or the United States, your information may be processed in Canada, the United States, and any other location where service providers used by igGC process data. 12. RETENTION AND ACCOUNT PRIVACY CHOICES Account credentials, an optional email address, profile information, display preferences, account-security events, API records, Apache logs, and application logs are retained for as long as reasonably needed for operation, security, troubleshooting, abuse prevention, and legal compliance. You may edit or remove profile information, change your nickname or password, turn off newsletter subscription, control email and birthday visibility, and log out. igGC may, at its discretion, delete an account that has never played a game. Privacy removal means removing or stripping identifiable profile and email information where applicable. It does not delete the permanent records described in this Privacy Policy, including the permanent user ID, game records, ratings, scores, activity records, or information-page revision history. 13. SECURITY igGC uses reasonable measures to protect information. No Internet service can guarantee complete security. 14. YOUR REQUESTS You may contact info@iggamecenter.com with privacy questions or requests for access, correction, profile stripping, email removal, or child-account review. Some information may remain as described in this Privacy Policy. 15. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY This Privacy Policy takes effect on the publication date shown above. igGC may revise this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be announced only through the website and will take effect when announced.
